玫瑰盛開時(shí)，愿君采擷，
歲月漫長(zhǎng)，但也不停飛馳：
今天的花朵燦爛笑靨，
明天也要凋謝枯死。

太陽(yáng)是天空中光輝的明燈，
越升越高，輝煌如火；
越來(lái)越短的是它的路程，
很快地它也要降落。

人生最美的就是豆蔻年華，
青春飛揚(yáng)，熱血沸騰；

Gather ye rose buds while ye may,
Old Time is still a flying:
And this same flower that smiles today,
Tomorrow will be dying

The glorious lamp of heaven,the sun,
The higher he's a getting;
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent,the worse,and worst
Times still succeed the former

Then be not coy,but use your time,
And while ye may,go marry:
For having lost but once your prime,
You may for ever tarry

赫里克的許多詩(shī)作所關(guān)心的都是“珍惜光陰”或及時(shí)行樂(lè)、把握每一天（Seize the day）的話題，此詩(shī)勸說(shuō)美麗的少女不要錯(cuò)過(guò)時(shí)機(jī)，享受青春的歡樂(lè)。前三節(jié)形象鮮明，富于哲理，最后一節(jié)把嚴(yán)肅的哲理歸依于趕快結(jié)婚，不免有些詼諧，卻也是大實(shí)話。
