形態(tài)：小型涉禽，體長(zhǎng)19-23cm。嘴較細(xì)長(zhǎng)，明顯地向下彎曲。夏羽頭和下體栗色，上體黑色。飛翔時(shí)白色腰和翼帶極為醒目。冬羽上體灰褐色，下體白色，頸側(cè)和胸綴有黃褐色，眉紋白色。

虹膜褐色；嘴黑色；腳黑色。

分布：中國(guó)東北及東部沿海地區(qū)有分布。在保護(hù)區(qū)屬常見(jiàn)的旅鳥(niǎo)。

習(xí)性：繁殖于北極凍原地帶，冬季棲息于沿海海岸、河口等地。喜沿海灘涂及近海的稻田和魚塘。主要以軟體動(dòng)物、甲殼類等小型無(wú)脊椎動(dòng)物為食。
