形態(tài)：中型水鳥，體長(zhǎng)45-51cm。腿及嘴綠黃色，尾白。初級(jí)飛羽羽尖白色，具大塊的白色翼鏡。冬季頭及頸散見褐色細(xì)紋，有時(shí)嘴尖有黑色。第一冬的鳥尾具黑色次端帶，頭、頸、胸及兩脅具濃密的褐色縱紋，上體具褐斑。第二年鳥似成鳥但頭上褐色較深，翼尖黑而翼鏡小。

虹膜黃色；嘴綠黃色；腳肉色。

分布：中國(guó)中東部及南部地區(qū)有分布。在保護(hù)區(qū)屬常見的旅鳥和冬候鳥。

習(xí)性：繁殖期棲息于北極苔原地帶，冬季棲息于海岸、河口和港灣等地。松散的群棲性。主要以小魚和水生無脊椎動(dòng)物為食。

HH:Breeds in arctic tundras.Winters at coasts， estuaries and harbours， in loose flocks.Feeds mainly on fish and aquatic invertebrates.
