傳說(shuō)西湖水永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)干涸是因?yàn)楹鬃≈活^金牛。

It is said the water in West Lake would never dry up because there lived a golden cow in the lake.

有個(gè)貪心的財(cái)主想把金牛占為己有，叫家丁在西湖邊架起十部水車(chē)，車(chē)了七七四十九天，把湖水抽干了，真的看見(jiàn)了一頭金牛。家丁們?cè)噲D把金牛綁走，可用盡全身力氣，金牛巍然不動(dòng)。財(cái)主急了就親自跑到湖底幫忙，突然，金牛打了個(gè)噴嚏，霎時(shí)，大雨傾盆，湖水猛漲，財(cái)主和他的家人全部被淹死了。那以后，金牛再?zèng)]出現(xiàn)過(guò)，但湖中長(zhǎng)出了一種水草，葉子橢圓像雞蛋，渾身滑溜溜的，一到秋天，開(kāi)出金黃色的鮮花，鋪滿(mǎn)湖面，美極了。有人說(shuō)，這水草是金牛的奶汁變的。

A greedy rich man wanted to rob the cow for himself.he asked his servants to drain the water with ten waterwheels.They went to the bottom of the lake and tried to move the golden cow in vain.In a hurry，the greed rich man dashed to the lake bottom and gave a hand in person.Suddenly，the cow sneezed，the cloudburst came，the rich man，and his family were all drowned.After that，the cow disappeared，and a kind of float grass grew up in the lake.The leaves were oval，like the egg.Someone said that the grass was made from the milk of the golden cow.

那一年，杭州給皇帝進(jìn)宮了滿(mǎn)滿(mǎn)的兩桶水草，皇帝吃了很喜歡?？扇四挠谐圆莸恼f(shuō)法，皇帝就給水草起了個(gè)名兒，叫“莼菜”，就是純美營(yíng)養(yǎng)的菜。

The officials of hangzhou gave the grass as tribute to the emperor.The Emperor liked it very much.But he didn’t like the name “float grass”as it stood for the forage，so he bestowed a name to it “Chuncai”，which means pure and nourishing vegetable.

中文里面有個(gè)很美的詞叫“莼鱸之思”，它來(lái)自于一個(gè)典故。

There is a beautiful Chinese word “missing Chuncai and weever”and it comes from an interesting story.

晉代的張翰，“才高八斗，善屬文”，在洛陽(yáng)做官的時(shí)候，因見(jiàn)“秋風(fēng)起，不由思戀起家鄉(xiāng)的莼羹鱸魚(yú)膾”，說(shuō)：“人世貴在得志，何能羈宦數(shù)千里，以要名爵乎？”于是，便辭官還鄉(xiāng)，后人就把這種思鄉(xiāng)之情成為“莼鱸之思”。在外的游子，最為牽掛的三件事——倚門(mén)的老母、臨窗的嬌妻，和家鄉(xiāng)的莼菜羹。明代有一首《煮莼歌》：“一朝能作千里莼，頓使吾徒搖食指；琉璃碗盛碧玉光，五味紛錯(cuò)生馨香；出盤(pán)四座已驚嘆，舉箸不敢爭(zhēng)先嘗；淺斟細(xì)嚼意未足，指點(diǎn)杯盤(pán)戀余香”。

Zhanghan was an intelligent scholar who was excelled in prose in the Western Jin Dynasty (265-316A.D.).When he was an official in the capital Luoyang in the north of China，one day in autumn he felt a puff of cold wind，suddenly he missed the Chuncai and weever of his hometown.Then he wrote，“A man who gains reputation in the government is respected，but is it worthy to obtain fame and interest thousands of miles away from home？”So he resigned and went home.From then on，when a man is out，we always say he has three things to miss：dear mother，dear wife and Chuncai.
