Excellencies, Distinguished Delegates, Ladies and Gentlemen,

As you all know, （6） ______ economic and cultural ties between ASEAN and China have been formalized in 1991, the year when the countries entered into a dialogue relation. Because of geographical proximity and close socio-economic ties, ASEAN and China shared a strong view that there will be immense possibilities in establishing an ASEAN-China free trade area utilizing the vast （7） ______ ______.

In 2001, the Leaders of ASEAN and China declared to establish a Free Trade Area （8） ____________ ______, and signed the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation between ASEAN and People's Republic of China in 2002.
