中國(guó)人喜歡使用"but"從句：同中文一樣，在英文中這也是連接兩個(gè)短句的簡(jiǎn)單方法。要避免單一的"but"從句，可以考慮采用以下這些變化形式：

除了"but"從句，很多學(xué)英語(yǔ)的人還會(huì)過(guò)多使用"if … then"或是"if"從句。這些從句本身并不是不好。但我們這里討論的是多樣性及其必要性。看看下例：
