7.1　會(huì)見類新聞

隨著經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)發(fā)展以及地區(qū)交往與國際交流的日益頻繁，領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人會(huì)見來訪客人在我國的新聞報(bào)道中占據(jù)一定比例，而且我國的新聞報(bào)道長期以來有報(bào)道領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人活動(dòng)的慣例。此類稿件的英譯目前已形成了一定的規(guī)律和套路，如標(biāo)題有兩種處理方式，一種是比較刻板的翻譯，按照中文新聞直譯，而另一種則是提取新聞主要內(nèi)容，重新撰寫標(biāo)題。導(dǎo)語翻譯也是如此。

由于會(huì)見類新聞報(bào)道模式相似，因此譯文在語言使用有以下一些共同點(diǎn):

1)“會(huì)見”通常譯為meet with而不是meet;

2)由于會(huì)見的客人是有身份的，需要解釋，時(shí)間和地點(diǎn)狀語就提前到謂語動(dòng)詞之前;

3)很多情況下會(huì)見的對(duì)象是對(duì)方的一位領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人率領(lǐng)的一個(gè)代表團(tuán)，因此，譯文中通常以delegation為賓語，后接led/headed by引導(dǎo)的短語，表示該代表團(tuán)的領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人是誰;

4)根據(jù)我國領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人會(huì)見類新聞報(bào)道的慣例，新聞?wù)拈_頭的第一句話就是主人向客人的來訪表示熱烈歡迎。這句話的譯文已基本形成套路如下:主人extended his/her warm welcome to the guest(s);

5)在表達(dá)熱烈歡迎之后，按照慣例，主人會(huì)向客人介紹本地的情況，尤其是經(jīng)濟(jì)情況。注意這時(shí)候的“介紹”應(yīng)該使用brief somebody on something這一結(jié)構(gòu);

6)會(huì)見類新聞無非是主客雙方的交談，因此離不開與“說”有關(guān)的動(dòng)詞，譯文中應(yīng)注意此類動(dòng)詞使用的多樣化以及說話人的語氣，因?yàn)橛⒄Z特別強(qiáng)調(diào)用不同的動(dòng)詞來表達(dá)“說話”，常見的除了say之外還有remark，note，add，reiterate，urge，mention，emphasize等。也可以用according to主人/客人來標(biāo)記他們所說的話;

7)會(huì)見中客人少不了要禮節(jié)性地對(duì)主人的接待表示感謝，這時(shí)候的常見表達(dá)是“客人express his/her appreciation for the hospitality of主人”;

8)新聞?wù)闹械闹髡Z除了使用主客人的姓名外還可以根據(jù)國外習(xí)慣直接使用其姓氏，也可以使用其職務(wù)，以避免重復(fù)同一個(gè)主語，還可以直接使用第三人稱代詞，如省長姓名、省長的姓氏、governor，he等。此外，如果會(huì)見雙方是身份對(duì)等的官員，還可以使用英語中的相應(yīng)單詞counterpart，同樣可以起到避免重復(fù)的作用，同時(shí)也可以使譯文表達(dá)多樣化;

9)新聞全文在確保重要事實(shí)和數(shù)據(jù)的前提下可以靈活運(yùn)用各種手段進(jìn)行適度編譯;

10)會(huì)見類新聞報(bào)道譯文常用詞語和表達(dá):

①雙方關(guān)系十分密切enjoy close ties

②促進(jìn)交流與合作promote exchange and cooperation

③雙方both parties/two sides

④雙邊合作bilateral cooperation

⑤雙邊貿(mào)易bilateral trade

⑥保持友好關(guān)系maintain good relationship

⑦共同努力make joint efforts

⑧取得巨大成就great achievements have been made

⑨擴(kuò)大/推進(jìn)合作expand/enlarge/promote/further cooperation

⑩由……共同舉辦/發(fā)起jointly sponsored by．．．

?擴(kuò)大交流與合作deepen the exchange and cooperation

梁保華會(huì)見荷蘭客人

【口導(dǎo)】昨天晚上，江蘇省省長梁保華在南京會(huì)見了荷蘭北布拉邦省省長瑪亦·威根一行，賓主進(jìn)行了親切友好的交談，兩位省長共同簽署了兩省深化友好合作的備忘錄。

由江蘇省外經(jīng)貿(mào)廳、荷蘭外商投資局、北布拉邦省發(fā)展署共同舉辦的“荷蘭北布拉邦省投資說明會(huì)”今天上午在南京舉行。江蘇省副省長張衛(wèi)國，北布拉邦省省長瑪亦·威根、副省長埃塞德出席會(huì)議。張衛(wèi)國、埃塞德先后致辭。

截至目前，荷蘭在我省投資企業(yè)有285家，到賬外資超過22億美元;我省也有9家企業(yè)在荷蘭投資。

Provincial governor meets with Dutch guests

Liang Baohua，Governor of East China's Jiangsu Province，met on Sunday evening in Nanjing with a Dutch delegation headed by Mrs．J．R．H．Maij-Weggen，Governor of Netherlands'North Brabant Province．Friendly talks were conducted between the two parties and a memorandum of further friendly cooperation was signed by the two governors．

Governor Liang extended his warm welcome to Mrs．Maij-Weggen for her second official visit to Jiangsu．He said North Brabant and Jiangsu have enjoyed close ties since the two parties began friendly exchanges two decades ago．In the past two decades，great achievements have been made in the exchange and cooperation between the two sides in such key fields as economy，education，and science and technology，Liang added．

According to Governor Liang，Mrs．Maij-Weggen's visit to Jiangsu with delegates from government，business，and cultural circles is a strong indication of her great attention and support to the friendly exchanges between the two provinces，and the visit would definitely further promote the development of bilateral cooperation．

At the meeting，Liang Baohua also briefed Dutch guests on the economic and social development of Jiangsu during recent years．He said his province is willing to make joint efforts with North Brabant to expand bilateral cooperation and exchange in more sectors and at deeper levels．

Mrs．Maij-Weggen appreciated the hospitality of Governor Liang．She said she was very glad to witness the rapid development and remarkable changes made by Jiangsu during her second visit here．North Brabant and Jiangsu have been maintaining good relationship during the past two decades，she said，adding that she believed the two sides would gain greater achievements in their future cooperation．

After the meeting，Governor Liang Baohua and his Dutch counterpart signed the memorandum of further deepening friendly cooperation between Jiangsu and North Brabant．

Sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation，the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency，and the Bureau of DevelopmentofNorthBrabant，NetherlandsNorthBrabantInvestment Conference was held in the provincial capital Nanjing on Monday morning．Top officials from the two provinces attended the meeting．

Up to now，285 Netherlands enterprises have invested in Jiangsu and the actual foreign investment has topped 2.2 billion USD．9 Jiangsu enterprises have made investment in the Netherlands．

Jiangsu Governor meets with German Chancellor

Jiangsu Provincial Governor Liang Baohua met on Wednesday in Nanjing here with visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel．Both sides expressed sincere hope for closer ties and broader cooperation in various fields．

Governor Liang extended his warm welcome to Chancellor Merkel on behalf of the provincial government and Jiangsu people．He said the year of 2007 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Germany diplomatic relations．At this special moment，the Jiangsu people feel greatly honored that Chancellor Merkel took the trouble to attend an opening ceremony of a series of cultural activities aiming to promote the image of her country．The ceremony was held on Tuesday in Nanjing，capital of East China's Jiangsu Province．The governor also noted that German investment in Jiangsu tops all of the European countries，with more than 1，000 investment projects settling in the province．Foreign trade volume between Jiangsu and German accounts for one sixth the the province's total．Jiangsu has set up sistership relationship with two states in Germany．13 cities in Jiangsu have twined with their German counterparts．The governor believed that the prospects for mutual development and cooperation are great and both sides are bound for greater achievements．

Chancellor Merkel expressed her gratitude to the hospitality of Governor Liang and the Jiangsu people．She said she was deeply impressed by the historic and cultural significance as well as the expediting economic growth Jiangsu has displayed to the outside world．The chancellor also hoped both sides will deepen friendly ties in many fields，in particular the auto industry and enviromental industry．

Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Beijing on Sunday night，kicking off her official visit to China from August 26 to 29．During her visit，Merkel met Chinese President Hu Jintao，top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao．

Jiangsu to strengthen ties with Germany

Jiangsu Vice Provincial Governor Zhang Weiguo met on Wednesday in Nanjing with Dr．Albrecht von der Heyden，German Consul General in Shanghai．Both sides exchanged views on how to deepen the exchange and cooperation between Jiangsu and Germany．
