7.2　會議類新聞

同樣是由于經(jīng)濟社會發(fā)展以及各種交往與合作的不斷增多，各類會議、論壇也是新聞報道的重要組成部分。這種會議和論壇又以我國職能部門主持召開的業(yè)務會議或工作會議和地區(qū)及國際合作論壇居多。葉周(2005:53-54)指出，在我國的新聞報道中，會議新聞不但數(shù)量多，而且不少是要聞。此類新聞經(jīng)過補充必要的背景和解釋性材料，不少是可以編輯加工成對外新聞稿的。在翻譯此類新聞稿件時，也有一定的規(guī)律可循:

1)標題翻譯大多傾向于在提取新聞主要內(nèi)容之后重寫，因為直譯舉辦了某個會議或論壇顯得不夠生動，不符合標題應該言簡意賅、生動活潑、吸引讀者的要求。

2)導語翻譯也傾向于提煉新聞報道的主題進行重寫。如果直接以會議作為導語的開頭句，既可以由會議作主語，也可以由會議主辦者作主語。

3)在譯文語言表達上，“舉辦”可以譯為hold或host，也可以用新聞報道喜歡用來表達“開幕”的短語動詞kick off?？梢允褂弥鲃诱Z態(tài)，也可以使用被動語態(tài)。

4)新聞正文內(nèi)容可以在保證基本事實和數(shù)據(jù)的前提下進行編譯。

A Sino-Germany Forum on urban sustainable development kicked off on Tuesday in Nanjing，capital of East China's Jiangsu Province．The forum centers on the hot button issues including the energy conservation and environmental protection，urban traffic，urban architecture and urban life．600-odd guests from government agencies，academic groups，institutes and universities attended the forum．

Jiangsu，Kobe seek further co-op

The conference on China-Japan Regional Cooperation was held on Tuesday in Japan's Kobe City．The event aims to enhance the regional cooperation between the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China and the Osaka-Kobe region in Japan．

Huang Lixin，Vice Governor of East China's Jiangsu Province，Toshizo Ido，Hyogo Prefecture Governor，and Tatsuo Yada，Mayor of Kobe，attended the conference．On behalf of the Chinese side，Huang delivered a speech at the opening ceremony．Besides the delegation from Jiangsu，officials from China's Development and Reform Commission and delegates from China's Anhui Province and Shanghai City also attended the meeting．

Jiangsu improves legal environment for fair justice

Courts at all levels in East China's Jiangsu Province should focus on upholding people's rights and interests to improve the legal environment across the province，said Lin Xiangguo，Standing Committee Member of CPC Jiangsu Committee，at a conference held on Tuesday in the provincial capital city Nanjing．

Lin stated that a fair and effective legal environment is vital to the construction of a harmonious society．To help build a moderately prosperous society and maintain social stability，courts at all levels should focus on upholding the rights and interests of the people and try their best to solve the problems that matter most to the public．Special attention should be paid to land requisition，enterprisereconstruction，environmentpollution，medicaldisputesand malpractices．

Lin also required the courts at all levels to improve their staff training．The major tasks of courts are to safeguard the leadership of the Party，state security，the interests of the people and social stability，stressed Lin at the meeting．

Leaders present at the meeting included Zhang Yan，provincial senior legislator，and Zhang Jiuhan，Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province．At the meeting，courts and workers who did outstanding performances last year were commended．Gong Pixiang，Chief Justice of Jiangsu Supreme People's Court，announced this year's work plan．
