業(yè)內預計,從二月中旬到六月初,各地的旅游市場將持續(xù)保持旺季態(tài)勢。
Jiangsu reports booming holiday tourism
The weeklong-holiday of the Spring Festival lasting from February 18 to 24 has aggressively spurred the tourism industry of East China's Jiangsu Province.Latest figures released by the Provincial Tourism Bureau show that the 13 cities in Jiangsu greeted altogether 7.6 million travelers from both home and abroad,generating some 6.6 billion yuan of total income,up by 18.6%and 22.8%on a yearly basis.
Highlighting the harmonious development between urban and rural regions,over 70 colorful cultural and recreational activities were staged all over the province to entertain the visitors as well as the local people.Showcasing folk customs,local flavor and modern taste,these activities were extremely appealing to travelers.According to statistics,the 300 major scenic spots in the province received 13.9 million visitors during the weeklong holiday to generate an admission fee income of some 121 million yuan,a rise of 39.5%and 55%year on year.Travel agencies provincewide reported a passenger flow of 185,000,19.2%higher than the previous year.
Category analysis show that overseas visitors have contributed greatly to the province's tourism income during the weeklong holiday.The five airports including Lukou,Shuofang,Benniu,Guanyin and Baitabu received a 77,500 passengers while flying 84,600 passengers out of the province.Meanwhile,highway transportation in Nanjing,Suzhou,Wuxi,Zhenjiang,Yangzhou,Changzhou,Xuzhou and Lianyungang witnessed a passenger inflow and outflow of some 5 and 5.9 million respectively during the holiday while the figure for railway transportation reached some 1.2 and 1.1 million.
Thanks to the booming tourism,the retailing and catering businesses in Jiangsu also cashed in during the holiday.Figures show that the 40 key retailers and the 34 major food suppliers reported a sales income of 776 and 33.6 million yuan,an annual increase of 23.6%and 18.2%respectively.According to estimation,the tourism market will keep momentum from February to June.

Since new travel routes are provided,holiday makers have various options this summer.Special services are offered to students who have just taken the annual college entrance exam,lasting from June 6th to 9th.Hong Kong,which has returned to mainland China for a decade,is highly recommended as a tourist destination this year.
As overseas destinations are favored by more and more Chinese people,travel agencies have prepared new outbound trips to boom the tourist industry.Based on the statistic result of China National Tourism Administration,about 34.52 million Chinese people travel overseas last year.The forecast from the World Travel Fair 2007 predicts some 37.4 million Chinese will travel abroad this year,an increase of 10 percent over last year.
China's increasing number of outbound travelers has attracted international travel organizations around the world to promote their products and services.A Turkey travel agency has presented a new product for Chinese honeymoon makers who tied the knot after June 7th.
Many travel agencies have adjusted the price of their products for the upcoming peak season.Compared with normal cost,the price of some itineraries has increased by 15%.A seven-day trip to Australia will charge more than 10,000 yuan,a rise of 700 yuan on normal cost.

A series of event named“Enjoy a Hong Kong Tour with UnionPay”was also launched during a time when the whole nation is celebrating the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong's return to mainland China.
In the meantime,a forum was held between UnionPay branch in East China's Jiangsu Province and the Provincial Tourism Bureau,focusing on their cooperation in the expansion of overseas tourist attractions and payment issues of CUP cards in hotels as well as shopping malls.
