三、譯法多樣化

本小節(jié)的主題在上面的部分例句中已經(jīng)有所體現(xiàn)：一個句子可有兩種甚至兩種以上的譯法。更為直白的說法是：有些句子有時主動被動均可，英語的表達可以是多樣化的；采用哪種句型或譯法，由譯者根據(jù)具體情況決定；不同的譯文有時難分軒輊，有時又的確可以看出一些差異。也許，更能說明問題的是下面這幾個例句：

例38　要區(qū)別不同情況，繼續(xù)對國有企業(yè)實施戰(zhàn)略性改組。

C1. We should distinguish different situations and go on with the strategic streamlining on SOEs.

C2. The strategic restructuring of SOEs should continue in accordance with their varying conditions.

B1. We shall go on with the strategic streamlining on SOEs by distinguishing differentsituations.

請你仔細對比B1和C1，以及B2和C2，然后再拿A1與B1、A2與B2稍作對比。

A1. The different scenarios of (particular) SOEs shall be considered when we continue their strategic streamlining.

A2. The strategic restructuring of SOEs shall be continued by taking into account of their varying circumstances.

例39　在中國不是所有的自來水都可飲用，但瓶裝礦泉水隨處可以買到。

譯文D 系某公司與漢語原文并列的原譯文，除了標記之處外，漏譯較多。其他四個譯文為學生所做，顯然好得多了。這些譯文表現(xiàn)出了足夠的多樣化，如能改善標記部分都是“既對又好”的譯文。在C中，credit確有“名譽，名望，聲望”的義項，但在本句的上下文里難免令人想到該詞的其他更為常見的釋義。B1的末尾四個單詞距離所修飾的對象較遠。
